Every Purchase Has a Different Story
One of the things I've loved most about vending at markets is watching how differently people shop.
Some people spot something they love and make a beeline straight to my booth. Maybe it's an upcycled flannel, a color they adore, or a pair of earrings that just feels like them. They know immediately.
Others circle my booth a couple of times before making a decision. I like to imagine they're thinking through their purchases—deciding what they'll remember, what they'll wear often, or what will genuinely bring them joy.
And then there are the people who stop just to chat. They ask how I got started, where I find my materials, or whether everything is really upcycled. They may not take anything home that day, but I still love those conversations because they connect us through creativity and curiosity.
It's a reminder that no two people shop the same way. Every purchase—or even every conversation—has a different story behind it. As a maker, that's one of my favorite parts of doing markets. It isn't just about selling handmade pieces; it's about meeting people exactly where they are.
So...what kind of shopper are you?
