From Crafty Kid to Creative Business Owner

If you’ve followed along with my creative journey for a while, you’ve probably seen the name Treasures Recreated pop up quite a bit. But I realized I’ve never really shared the story behind it — or a little more about me.

Hi, I’m Taylor Anderson, creator of Treasures Recreated.

Before marrying my wonderful husband, my last name was Reynoldson, and funny enough, the name Treasures Recreated actually started back in college during a branding project. We were tasked with creating our own brand, and I decided to use my initials — T and R — to create Treasures Recreated. At the time, I had no idea that years later it would become something so personal and meaningful to me.

Creativity has always been part of my life.

Growing up, being “bored” usually meant pulling out craft supplies. Pony beads, friendship bracelets, Perler beads, knitting — if it involved making something with my hands, I was interested. I’ve always loved creating, but I also grew up loving a good bargain and finding creative ways to source materials. Even back then, I was the kind of person searching thrift stores for yarn or unique supplies that could become something new.

As social media became more popular, I naturally started sharing the things I made online. Handmade gifts became one of my favorite ways to show love to the people around me — diaper cakes, bridal shower gifts, birthday presents, custom creations, and all kinds of crafty projects. Friends and family constantly encouraged me to sell my work, and every once in a while, I would.

But a couple of years ago, something shifted.

One day, I decided to officially register Treasures Recreated as an LLC, and that moment really changed everything. What had once been a lifelong hobby and passion project suddenly became something I wanted to genuinely pursue and grow.

Since then, I’ve launched my website, started building my social media presence, participated in markets and vendor events, worked on blog content, and started making connections within both the Minneapolis creative community and the thrifting/upcycling world.

One of my favorite parts of this journey has honestly been the people.

From fellow vendors at markets, to event hosts, to random conversations with people who also love thrifting, sustainability, creativity, and handmade goods — I’ve met so many kind and encouraging people along the way. It’s been really exciting to see how many opportunities and friendships can grow simply from showing up and sharing what you love.

And honestly? I still feel like this is just the beginning.

I’m excited to continue creating, growing, thrifting, upcycling, collaborating, and seeing where these new opportunities lead. So whether you’ve supported me from the beginning or you’re just finding Treasures Recreated now — thank you for being here.

Stay tuned. There’s a lot more to come.
