The Craft Supplies I Never Throw Away

If you've spent any time in my craft room, you've probably noticed that I save just about everything, and I LOVE organization. 

People often ask me where I get my ideas, and honestly, sometimes the supplies inspire the project instead of the other way around. I've learned that any number of random things could become tomorrow's favorite project.

Broken jewelry? I save it.

Extra buttons? Into a jar.

Ribbon scraps? Folded away.

Lace, beads, charms, fabric, thread, and even interesting packaging all have a place in my craft room.

A broken necklace might become an embellishment on a mixed-media project. Leftover fabric becomes tassel keychains or stuffing for crochet creations. Colorful thread clippings from sewing my summer tops are currently waiting for whatever creative idea comes next.

I don't always know exactly what something will become, and I think that's part of the fun.

Creativity has taught me that inspiration isn't always found in buying something new. Sometimes it's waiting in a small jar of buttons, a basket of fabric scraps, or a collection of colorful thread that's simply waiting for the right idea.

So yes...I save a lot of things, and every once in a while, one of those forgotten little treasures becomes my favorite part of a project.
